from the conference, Elder Flores is in Mexicali now!

Juan, eating outside when it is like 115 degrees..

Hey family, this week has been good!! Sounds like you had a good time in Utah mom!! That's great that Jared was set apart as first counselor, and that Brad left on his mission! ya mom we had the zone conference this week, it was good, the new president arrived a couple days ago but we haven't met him! The conference was good. I saw Elder Flores, he got transferred to here in Mexicali Villas Del Rey, in my old area where I started my mission. Ya I got 2 packages from mom and one from grandma!! Thanks for the packages, I really appreciate them. This week was good, we are going to baptize Juan this week finally, he has quit smoking so he can be baptized on Thursday! It's been awesome to see him progress, I remember when I first met him he was drunk and smoking and now he has left everything behind and is following Christ and entering into the waters of baptism. I have never met someone that has passed for so many trials and difficulties in their life as they choose to be baptized. He has nothing physically speaking but he has a hope and faith in the Lord that is immovable. Anyways thanks for everything family, enjoy the summer!! I'm pretty sure I'm getting enough sun to last me the rest of my life haha cuidase!  (Take Care)

June 23, 2014

Hey family, no mom still haven't had our zone conference, its this week. Sounds like you guys are doing good there and having lots of fun. I'm doing good down here, just battling the sun everyday. They changed the schedule now, now we are going to start working in the mornings and at 3 until 4:30 we will go back to the house and take a cold shower and study. Anyways, its been going good.  I am still having difficulties with my feet, I keep getting blisters that hurt like none other but I got some medication this week that is helping. My companion and I get along good, he has 4 months in the mission and is a convert of one year but he's cool and he is smart.  He's 20 years old, its nice to have a companion that's older than 18. This week has been good, we've just been working hard, we are going to  baptize Juan this week hopefully and Ramona in a couple weeks. I hope you like the pictures I sent you! Anyways have a fantastic week!

Ya,  I don't know the rule exactly but ya we probably won't be able to play soccer.  But right now in Mexicali, we don't play soccer anyways cause its so hot. The last time we played my shoes fell apart because the ground was so hot it melted the glue of my shoes haha.

Our conference is here in Mexicali. On Tuesday.

We still have to ride the bus for an hour... and we usually don't have a seat, we have to stand.

Love,

Happy 20th Birthday Elder Jacob Johnson!!

Hey family, yes it's still hot haha.  It just keeps getting hotter week by week haha.  Sounds like you all are doing good, that's great to hear!! It's been a good week down here, my new companion is good, he is a hard worker and is obedient so its really sweet! I know we are going to see miracles this transfer!! Sounds pretty rough that dad has kidney stones!! Thanks for the pictures mom, they are great!! I have had many experiences lately. The other night when we were planning for the next days' appointments I had the feeling that we needed to visit a family that was less active that has never let us in before. And so we went to visit them and they didn't open their door.  I was standing there thinking of why the Lord would want us to be here in that moment and I knew he was preparing someone for us to find.   We then went to visit a contact that I made a couple weeks ago and there the brother of the girl I contacted answered the door and received us in his house and said he had read the Book of Mormon all the way through but never knew anything about the church and wanted to learn more! It was a cool experience and it is always reassuring to know that God is guiding us in the path that he has prepared so that we can find those that are waiting to hear the gospel! I'm doing great down here! Just enjoying the sun!!!!!!............. I'm having a blast down here and am learning a ton!! Thanks for everything family!! Have a great week!!

Hey family, this week has been good. It's been hot as usual. Every week it just keeps getting hotter and hotter. Today was transfers, I stay here in Mexicali but I received a new companion, Elder Alegria from Chiapas. He seems pretty good. Sounds like you guys are doing good, enjoying the summer! That's great that Brooke came home for the weekend, no I don't have any plans for my birthday,we will just work like every other day haha.  I won't get your packages until the zone conference in June 20. I'm doing pretty good down here, trying to stay alive, the heat has been pretty rough on me, but everything is going good.  It's good to hear that everyone is doing alright, I can't believe I am going to be 20 years old this week, it doesn't feel like my birthday! I'm learning a lot here in Mexicali, its definitely a trial of  my faith to serve here in the summer but I'm looking forward to this transfer. I know we are going to see miracles! Anyways thanks for everything family, hope you like the pictures! Have a great week! Enjoy the Wyoming weather!

Hey family,

This week has been good.  It's been hotter than ever but I'm still alive so I can't complain. On Monday we went and played soccer but it was super hot, we didn't last long but after that my feet were really bad.  I had blisters and athletes foot and who knows what else this week, I could hardly walk Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday but now I'm feeling a little bit better.  I don't know why but my feet sweat alot and its not good haha but besides that I'm doing fantastic. No mom they haven't told us anything about the new president, and I doubt he speaks English.   Elder Estrada went home ya.  I don't have too many stories from this week, just fighting the sun and the heat constantly. We have an investigator that is really cool.  He is progressing good, his name is Juan, he sells tortas.   I have learned a lot from him and he has gone to church 5 times now, but he has a problem with smoking and we are working with him so he can quit smoking and be baptized.   But he has been an inspiration to me, he has gone through a lot of trials in his life, but he has found a joy and peace through the gospel and that's what brings a lot of joy to my soul. I know its really hard at times but I know that the service I am doing now is bringing blessings into the lives of others. No I didn't get your package, we don't have conference for a while, and no I don't need anything for my birthday I'm alright! Anyways thanks for the pics and the letter, hope you all have another fantastic week!
